The City of Los Angeles is massive and contains so many communities. I've tried to break down some of those communities in other postings throughout our website. Beverly Hills, West LA, South Bay, Hollywood, San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys are a few of the geographical areas but everything is part of Los Angeles. Los Angeles downtown features a garment and jewelry district that is very nice. Just outside of downtown Los Angeles are various communities including Los Feliz, Silverlake, Adams District, East LA and Hancock Park. Tremendous neighborhoods and communities. Unlike other cities, Los Angeles doesn't have a central location. Communities such as the Miracle Mile, Century City, Beverlywood and West Hollywood provide valuable real estate. Long Beach is a separate city but equally a part of the Los Angeles landscape. The 405 San Diego, 10 Santa Monica, 110 Freeways cut through and surround the city of Los Angeles but there are so many other freeways that connect this massive urban expanse.
I moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and went to college near downtown at USC. The Unversity of Southern California is a great school sitting in the middle of a lower economic area. Watts community on one side and the East LA and Adams District on the other side. I lived off Vermont and 3d street in a Korean community for awhile and worked in West Hollywood. I learn to love the various ethnic areas and the wonderful stores and restaurants. Thai Food, Ethiopian Food, Soul Food, Chinese Food, amazing food throughout. Nothing says Los Angeles more than Sushi. It seems that Sushi and asian cuisine was rediscovered in Los Angeles. Famous chefs such as Wolfgang Puck developed and crated their art here in Los Angeles. There are expensive homes and less expensive homes. The community is so diverse. I fell in love with Los Angeles almost from the moment I arrived. I felt a sense of comfort in the multi-ethnic community. I've enjoyed providing loans to families throughout Los Angeles over the last 20 years.
